Dr. Attila Kiss, assistant professor at BME TTK Institute of Nuclear Techniques (BME NTI)

About Dr. Attila Kiss: He holds a PhD in Physical Sciences since 2019 and an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2006 he graduated from the BME Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with a degree in Applied Mechanics main- and Fluid Dynamics sub-specialization. He already wrote his diploma thesis at the institute under the supervision of Professor Attila Aszódi, and from 2006 to 2009 he worked as a doctoral student. He has been a member of the institute since September 2009. In a broader sense, his field of research is thermal hydraulics of nuclear reactors (especially fourth generation) using numerical fluid dynamics and measurement tools. His narrower field of expertise is the thermal hydraulics of Supercritical-Water-Cooled Reactors (SCWRs). In addition to educational tasks, he participates in international research projects (for example EU FP-6, FP-7 and H2020 projects) and collaborations (for example IAEA CRPs, GIF benchmarks, etc.). He is constantly looking for talented English-speaking students in order to involve them into his research, with whom he can work in the framework of TDK dissertations, BSc dissertations and MSc diploma projects. Currently, he is assistant professor at BME NTI. He has 15+ years of experience in CFD & thermal hydraulics. He is the substitute representative of EURATOM in the SCWR Thermal hydraulics & Safety Project Management Board of Generation Four International Forum (GIF) since 2019.
